Our leaders were devious and corrupt.
The media helped crush the family.
Religion left us morally bankrupt.
Our feet dragged in the filth of apathy.
They stampeded toward gain without shame;
Everyone an enemy to be crushed.
Everyone frantic for a taste of fame;
Dishonesty consumed all that it touched.
We yearned for love in a merciless land,
Where people caressed their own interests.
No mind for anything but their demands;
Loneliness in this land left us depressed.
